Preface: The reason I purchased the UT-72G GMRS Magnet Mount is because I already own the Nagoya UT-72 HAM Magnet Mount and was highly satisfied with the SWR match and performance on the 2M/440 HAM bands. I recently got into GMRS and needed something that was tuned more for that band.I tested 2 different Nagoya UT72 antennas which are supposed to work great with MURS (~152-155mhz.) These are 1/4 wave at VHF, coil loaded at the base and about 20" tall. I measured both antennas below 1.5 SWR and there were no apparent problems with the coax. These did increase transmit range but actually reduced reception range significantly...Anyone knows this Nagoya UT-308UV 22" long antenna, or used it hooked up to a hand-held...Also chaining cables reduces signal quality a bit.
